RE: Change of Artist for June 11, 2016 Ida Cox Music Festival

TOCCOA, GA, JUNE 7, 2016 – Main Street Toccoa is happy to announce that a new artist has been selected for the second week of the Ida Cox Music Festival this 2016 season. After careful searching, Main Street Toccoa has chosen the Maggie Valley Band for its annual event series.

The Maggie Valley Band, based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, describes themselves as “a raw approach to Appalachian music intertwined with a heavy sixties influence” and are known for an eclectic fusion of bluegrass and folk music. The Maggie Valley Band is a rising star in the indie music scene and just released their new single, “Don’t Go,” which will be followed by an EP release later this month.

The Maggie Valley Band will headline Ida Cox this Saturday, June 11, 2016, and will begin at 8 P.M., following the opening act. They are replacing The Heap performance. The Heap unfortunately had to cancel, as they are currently on tour with Weezer.

The Ida Cox Music Festival is an annual event memorializing famous Toccoan blues singer, Ida Cox. Shows are held in Downtown Toccoa every Saturday in June and July beginning at 7 P.M. Admission is free for all.

The Main Street Office is happy to answer any questions regarding the selection of the Maggie Valley Band for the 2016 Ida Cox Music Festival. Please contact Christian Hamilton at 706.898.5777 for inquiries.
