Night at the Ritz presents: Wilson Fairchild: A Country Christmas

Press Release

Contact: Tami Mayhugh

Date: November 15, 2019

Toccoa, GA – November 15, 2019   It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Country duo Wilson Fairchild is bringing their Christmas show to Toccoa for a Night at the Ritz performance on Saturday, December 7th at 7:00pm at the Historic Ritz Theatre.

The musical duo, made up of Wil and Langdon Reid are often referred to as “the Reid boys.” They get their “entertainment chops” honestly. Wil’s dad is Harold Reid and Langdon’s dad is Don Reid of the legendary Statler Brothers.  The duo have been writing, performing, and playing music together their whole lives. In 2007, Wil and Langdon wrote a tribute to the Statlers simply called “The Statler Brothers Song.” They were asked to be a part of the medallion ceremonies and to perform the song for all of their “Statler dads” when the Brothers were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

From the last few years to the present, Wil and Langdon keep adding successes to their resume, as well as friends and fans to their Facebook page. Their engaging personalities coupled with their musical talent and impromptu wit is a perfect match for any audience. For 3 1/2 years, they opened the show for the one and only George Jones, graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, and been featured on Larry’s Country Diner on RFD-TV.

Night at the Ritz, a regular event series at the Historic Ritz Theatre, is funded in part, by generous grants received from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Georgia Council for the Arts.  Tickets for this event are available at the Toccoa/Stephens County Welcome Center, on our website, ritztheatretoccoa.com or at the box office night of show.  For more information on the Wilson Fairchild Country Christmas Show or Night at the Ritz, please contact Ritz Theatre General Manager Tami Mayhugh @tmayhugh@cityoftoccoa.com or via phone at 706.244-0039.

Date: November 4, 2019

RE: The Piatigorsky Foundation Performs at the Historic Ritz Theatre on November 15th

Toccoa, GA – November 4, 2019 – The great Russian cellist Gregor Piatigorsky believed that, “music makes life better. It is rich. It is imaginative. And it is for everyone.” It is through the Piatigorsky Foundation that the Historic Ritz Theatre will host mezzo-soprano Katherine Calcamuggio-Donner and piano accompanist, Douglas Kinney Frost, for a free Night at the Ritz concert on Friday, November 15 at 7:00pm

Calcamuggio-Donner is an award-winning mezzo-soprano whose talent distinguishes her as one of the most promising young vocalists on the opera scene today. In the past four seasons, Calcamuggio-Donner has been featured in important role and company debuts across the United States, eliciting kudos for her “soaring, rich voice” (The Miami Herald), her “polished musical and dramatic characterizations” (Kurt Weill Newsletter) and her “fine coloratura technique” (Philadelphia Inquirer).

Frost is in demand as a collaborative pianist and conductor on four continents.  The national press has labeled his work “a vigorous display of artistic strength.”  He is frequently engaged by the great opera houses and theaters of the world.

The Piatigorsky Foundation is dedicated to making live classical music an integral part of everyday life for communities throughout the United States. In performances that are both entertaining and informative, their artists share anecdotes and insights into the works they perform making classical music come alive for a diverse population.

Night at the Ritz, a regular event series at the Historic Ritz Theatre, is funded, in part, by generous grants received from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Georgia Council for the Arts. For more information on The Piatigorsky Foundation’s performance or Night at the Ritz, please contact Ritz Theatre General Manager Tami Mayhugh @tmayhugh@cityoftoccoa.com or via phone at 706.244.0039.
