"Paddington" at the Schaefer Center

The first of the 2015 summer movie series will open at the Schaefer Center, Thursday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m.  Main Street Toccoa will be hosting movies again this summer every Thursday evening in June and July in the renovated Schaefer Center in downtown Toccoa for the whole family.

The first of the season’s movies, “Paddington” is about a young Peruvian bear adapted from Michael Bond's enduring children's book series. As the story opens, Paddington makes his way to London, where he quickly gets lost until being taken in by the benevolent Brown family. After reading the label around his neck ('Please look after this bear. Thank you.'), the family offers him a temporary haven. When it looks as though his luck has changed this rarest of bears catches the eye of a scheming museum taxidermist who embarks on a personal mission to get him stuffed and mounted. This family friendly movie will delight children as well as the “young at heart.”
