– One of the most iconic holiday movies of all time, A Christmas Story, will kick off our Christmas Movie Series on
Thursday, December 3rd with a 10am & 7pm showing at the Historic
Ritz Theatre.
Based on the humorous writings of author Jean
Shepherd, this beloved holiday movie follows the wintry exploits of youngster
Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley), who spends most of his time dodging a bully
(Zack Ward) and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a "Red Ryder air
rifle." Frequently at odds with his cranky dad (Darren McGavin) but
comforted by his doting mother (Melinda Dillon), Ralphie struggles to make it
to Christmas Day with his glasses and his hopes intact. The movie is rated PG
with a run-time of 1hr 34 minutes.
Because of social distancing guidelines, each show
time will be limited to the first 150 guests. Hand sanitizer will be available
throughout the theatre and face masks are encouraged. The theatre will be cleaned
and disinfected between each showing.
