TOCCOA, GA, July 22, 2019 – Main Street Toccoa is happy to announce the next, and final, showing of the Summer movie series, Creed II, on Thursday, July 25^th at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. Tickets and concessions are only $1.

This concludes a very successful run for the 2019 Summer Movies at the Ritz.  Stay tuned for more information about the Christmas holiday movies in December!

RE: Linda Davis Performs at the Historic Ritz Theatre

TOCCOA, GA, July 15, 2019 – The Historic Ritz Theatre is pleased to present Grammy winner Linda Davis on Friday, August 2^nd at 7pm as the premiere performance for the 2019 Night at the Ritz season.

In 1993, Davis and superstar Reba McEntire recorded the duet, “Does He Love You.”  The recording became a #1 hit and earned the women a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. Additionally, she also won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song as part of the Scott Family's album Love Remains. In 2009, she was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.

Night at the Ritz is an annual event series at the Historic Ritz Theatre, and is funded, in part, by generous grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Georgia Council for the Arts. Tickets for all shows may be purchased online, at the Toccoa Welcome Center, or at the theatre box office before showtime.  Adult tickets are $10, children under 12 and students with an ID are $5.

TOCCOA, GA, July 12, 2019 – Main Street Toccoa is happy to announce the next showing of the Summer movie series, Incredibles 2, on Thursday, July 18^th at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm.

The Summer Movies at the Ritz will take place on Thursdays this June and July at the Historic Ritz Theatre in Downtown Toccoa. Tickets and concessions are only $1. The remaining screening will take place on July 25^th with Creed II.

2019 Living on Main Street Directory Photograph Scheduled

RE: Downtown Main Street Photograph Scheduled

TOCCOA, GA – July 8, 2019 – Main Street Toccoa is pleased to report that the annual Living on Main Street community photograph will take place on Wednesday, July 24^th, 2019 at 8am at the Historic Courthouse, located on the Courthouse Square in Downtown Toccoa.

Yearly, downtown business owners, city staff, county staff, police officers, firefighters, and members of the public gather together to take a large group photograph, which is featured in a two-page spread in Living on Main Street, an annual professional publication of Main Street Toccoa that is disbursed to tourism destinations across the State of Georgia, including the Toccoa Welcome Center and the Lavonia Visitor Information Center. This magazine has a yearly distribution of approximately 4,000 copies.

The photograph will be professionally shot by Steph’s Photography, based out of Toccoa, Georgia, who will also take the majority of the photographs in the magazine.

Main Street Toccoa invites the public out to participate in this group photograph. The photograph is scheduled to be taken promptly at 8am. Members of various city committees, including the Downtown Development Authority, the Toccoa Planning Commission, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the Promotions Committee, are requested to stay following the photograph for individual committee photographs. Police officers and firefighters are also requested to stay for individual photographs.

In the event of inclement weather, the photograph will be rescheduled for the next Wednesday, July 31^st, at the same time. Please stay tuned to the official Main Street Toccoa Facebook page and Weekly Update for any inclement weather updates.

Main Street Receives FY2020 Project Grant from Georgia Council for the Arts

TOCCOA, GA – July 8, 2019 – Main Street Toccoa is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a Georgia Council for the Arts Project Grant to provide funding for Season Three of Night at the Ritz.

Night at the Ritz is a regular event series held at the Historic Ritz Theatre in Downtown Toccoa that promotes high-quality acts and cultural experiences on a monthly basis. Night at the Ritz began in 2017 and has since grown to reach over 6,000 individuals since its inception.

“We are thankful to Georgia Council for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for once again believing in the value of the Historic Ritz Theatre in our community,” said Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton. “Their funding for Night at the Ritz will allow us to continue to provide the highest quality in entertainment right here in Northeast Georgia. We certainly appreciate the community’s support and look forward to releasing the schedule in the near future.”

TOCCOA, GA, July 9, 2019 – The Historic Ritz Theatre is pleased to present Grammy winner Linda Davis on Friday, August 2^nd at 7pm as the premiere performance for the 2019 Night at the Ritz season.

Three of Nashville’s most talented singer/songwriters bring a little taste of Music City to Toccoa when they perform an “Evening in the Round.”  The intimate night of acoustic music, starring three-time Grammy award winner Linda Davis and hit songwriters Lang Scott and Bill Whyte, will be injected with hits, humor and a whole lot of down home appeal.

This enjoyable night of music will see each artist taking a turn at the microphone, playing songs and sharing the stories behind these hits. The audience can expect to hear some familiar tunes recorded by some of today’s hottest artists, as well as Whyte’s own brand of sometimes twisted but always funny songs.
