RE: Historic Ritz Theatre Selects Second Open Mic Monday Grand Finale Winner


The Ritz Theatre hosted the second Open Mic Monday Grand Finale on Monday night to an
energized crowd. Winners from the Fall monthly competitions battled it out for the first prize to
be a paid performer at the Ida Cox Music Series in Downtown Toccoa in June. Contestants were
Garrett Lott (September), Jim Harrison (October), Zikerion Reese (November), and Krystina
Littleton (December). Each performer brought their own style and interpretation to their diverse
performances. In the end, however, Toccoa resident and North Georgia Technical College
student Krystina Littleton was declared the winner.

Appreciation is extended to the judges who rated these talented vocalists: bluegrass artist Edgar
Loudermilk, WNEG morning deejay Connie Gaines, and former music minister at Toccoa First
Baptist Church Chris Watkins.

The third year of Open Mic Monday will return in September for aspiring musicians who would
like to compete. More information will be shared with the public prior to that time. For more

RE: Historic Ritz Theatre Hosts Open Mic Monday Grand Finale on January 21^st at 7pm

On Monday, January 21^st, the Ritz Theatre in Toccoa is pleased to host the Grand Finale of Open Mic Monday’s second annual competition. The 2018 series, which began in September with monthly competitions held on the third Monday of each month, concluded in December. All of the competitors are winners and should be congratulated!

Our finalists competing for a paid performance at this summer’s Ida Cox Music Series in Downtown Toccoa are Garrett Lott, Jim Harrison, Zikerion Reese, and Krystina Littleton.

Grand Finale judges are renowned bluegrass artist Edgar Loudermilk, WNEG morning deejay Connie Gaines, and former music minister at Toccoa First Baptist Church Chris Watkins.

Everyone is invited to attend and admission is free.

RE: The Historic Ritz Theatre Welcomes Milkshake Mayfield

Toccoa, GA – January 14, 2019 – Main Street Toccoa is pleased to welcome local favorite Milkshake Mayfield to the Ritz Theatre on Thursday, February 7^th at 7pm.

Milkshake Mayfield calls Toccoa, Georgia his hometown, but he's known internationally as one of the best Jazz artists around. He’s played with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Cab Calloway, Freddie Hubbard, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie. The Milkshake Quintet will also perform.

Milkshake, backed up by the Milkshake Quintet, brings soulful jazz back to the Ritz Theatre as the February showing of Night at the Ritz.

Night at the Ritz, a regular event series at the Historic Ritz Theatre, is funded, in part, by a generous grant received from the Georgia Council for the Arts. Tickets for all shows may be purchased online at www.ritztheatretoccoa.com, or at the Toccoa Welcome Center. Adult tickets are $10, children under 12 and students with an ID are $5.  Doors open at 6:30.
