Outstanding Volunteer – Bob Troup
Best Historic Rehabilitation – Johnson and Fields
Special Recognition – Roots, Rhythm, and Rails
Dedicated Downtowner – Northland Communications
Best Historic Renovation – Toccoa Tileworks.
Also recognized were the many volunteers who helped with the 20 different events that were held in the downtown this year.
Following the presentation of awards, the 2012 Downtown Development Authority was introduced. DDA Board Members for 2012 are Chair Lynn Cox, Clay Fisher, Pam Keener, Michelle Lamping, Joann Raybon, Joe Sewell, Michele Whiten, and Terry Carter, the City Commission Liaison.
Mayor David Austin stated, “As we look back at 2011 it has been a year of major changes and much activity in the downtown. We expect to see a continuation of improvements in 2012 as we work together in both the public and private sectors. In our 22nd year as a Georgia Main Street, we intend to continue to make Historic Downtown Toccoa a place where people will want to come to live, shop, eat and be entertained.”
